  • Medical Plan Summary

General Equipment understands the importance of medical coverage and is committed to providing high quality health care benefits to you and your family. The medical plans offered to General Equipment employees utilizes an open access provider network.

The Classic Blue Plan is a traditional medical plan in which you pay upfront copayments for certain services such as office visits, prescription drugs, deductible and coinsurance for outpatient and inpatient hospital services.

The Blue Saver Plan is a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) where you are responsible for paying your annual deductible before the plan begins to pay toward your medical expenses. This plan allows you to have a Health Savings Account (HSA).  An HSA is a great way to save money and budget for qualified medical expenses as it allows you to put aside pre-tax funds to help pay for your out-of-pocket expenses.   General Equipment also contributes to your HSA on a quarterly schedule.

All Plans Provide 100% coverage for preventive care when received from an in-network provider.

  • Flexible Spending Accounts

Flexible spending accounts (FSAs) provide you with an important tax advantage that can help you pay for health care and dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis. By estimating your family’s health care and dependent care costs for the next year, you can lower your taxable income and save money.

    Traditional Health Care FSA
Employees who are enrolled in the Classic Blue plan may participate in the Traditional Health Care FSA. The maximum amount you can contribute to the Traditional Health Care FSA is determined by the IRS annually.

    Limited FSA
Employees who enroll in the BlueSaver HDHP with HSA may participate in the Limited Health Care FSA that allows you to use the money for dental and vision expenses only . The maximum amount you can contribute to the Limited Health Care FSA is determined by the IRS annually.

    Dependent Care FSA
Eligible employees may participate in the Dependent Care FSA. The maximum amount you can contribute to the Dependent Care FSA is determined by the IRS annually. This annual maximum applies to all contributions made by you and your spouse to a dependent care account.. Funds can be used to pay for childcare for children under age 13 when claimed as qualifying dependents. The savings potential isn’t limited to just childcare. It can also cover care for a disabled spouse or dependent of any age per the IRS regulations.

  • Dental Insurance

General Equipment offers you a dental plan to maintain a healthy, happy smile all year long. In addition to protecting your smile, dental insurance helps pay for dental care and includes regular checkups, cleanings, and X-rays. Several studies suggest that oral diseases, such as periodontitis (gum disease), can affect other areas of your body—including your heart. Receiving regular dental care can protect you and your family from the high cost of dental disease and surgery.

  • Vision Insurance

General Equipment offers you vision insurance. Driving to work, reading a news article, and watching TV are all activities you likely perform every day. Your ability to do all these activities, though, depends on your vision and eye health. Vision insurance can help you maintain your vision as well as detect various health problems.

  • Life and AD&D Insurance

Life insurance can help provide for your loved ones if something were to happen to you. General Equipment provides regular full-time and regular part-time employees with group life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. In addition, General Equipment provides dependent life coverage for your spouse and for your children.

  • Voluntary Life and AD&D

Employees who want to supplement their group life insurance benefits may purchase additional coverage. When you enroll yourself and/or your dependents in this benefit, you pay the full cost through payroll deductions.

  • Disability Insurance

General Equipment provides full-time employees with Short-Term Disability (STD) and Long-Term Disability (LTD) income benefits. Without disability coverage, you and your family may struggle to get by if you miss work due to an injury or illness.

In the event that you become disabled from a non-work related injury or sickness, disability income benefits will provide a partial replacement of lost income.

  • 401K Savings Plan

Eligible employees may participate in the 401K plan the first of the month after hire date.  After reaching 1 year of employment and at least 1,000 work hours, employees will receive a company match defined by our Summary Plan Document.
