SUMMARY:
This individual will operate a mobile service vehicle and travel to customer locations to perform in-field, machinery diagnostics and repairs as required. This individual must be able to perform quality work as efficiently and profitably as possible, work overtime, possibility of overnight stays and weekends on locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Builds knowledge of dealer supported product lines, service standards, and procedures and keeps abreast of all changes in various models of equipment sold and serviced by the distributor
* Perform in-field machinery diagnostics and repairs as required
* Complete service reports, time cards, parts returns, etc. in a timely manner
* Perform basic field/shop repair and maintenance jobs with minimal supervision
* Basic testing knowledge of all machine systems
* Develops and employs diagnostic related reasoning skills
* Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control
* Attends local, regional, national service schools and training sessions as requested
* Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe working environment both in shop and at customer job sites
* Maintains and cares for shop tools, equipment and vehicles
* Completes all paperwork required for jobs
* Maintains close, positive working relationships with service, parts and administrative personnel
* Conducts himself / herself in the presence of customers in a manner which will retain a good opinion of the company and the service department
* Responsible for operating heavy construction equipment in a safe manner
* May perform other duties as directed by Service Management

REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Minimum 2-year Diesel Technology or Automotive Technology degree or equivalent experience
* Strong equipment and mechanical background
* Current Class A CDL license or willing to obtain
* Has a basic tool set

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:

* Occasional to frequent walking or standing

o Pull (drag or tug objects)
o Turn/twist (move a body part in circular motion)
o Bend (bend downward and forward by bending the spine at waist)
o Reach (extend hands and arms in any direction)
o Handle (seize, hold turn with hands)
o Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers
* Hearing and speaking to exchange information.
* Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment.
* Consistently exposed to weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.

SUMMARY:
The Parts Counterperson uses comprehensive product knowledge, customer and inter-personal relationship skills to effectively and efficiently satisfy General Equipment's customer needs in securing parts. Working with Product Managers, Inventory Control and Service Personnel, this individual builds knowledge by participating in off-site, in-house and self-study product training opportunities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Primary Responsibility will be specializing in incoming calls from customers and Customer Service Support Representative Employees working in the field.
*Assists in the procurement, filling customer orders, stocking and receiving of construction machinery parts.
*Responsible for the completion of parts shipments.
*Learns online systems to fill in when Part Manager is absent.
*Becomes proficient in the various online supplier parts systems to look up and order parts.
*Builds knowledge of existing product lines, service standards and procedures.
*Acquires parts and other items from vendors in and around the Sioux Falls area in a safe and professional manner.
*Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control.
*Attends local, regional, national parts training seminars as requested by company management.
*Maintains close, positive working relationships with service and administrative departments.
*May perform other duties as directed by Parts and Branch Management.

REQUIRED SKILLS
*Has experience in parts sales in a retail environment.
*Computer Skills: ability to navigate through many vendor sites and processes.
*Basic understanding of computer spreadsheets, databases, and word processing applications.
*Proficient in writing, reading and math.
*Excellent customer service skills, written and verbal.
